It Takes Two is a well-known song performed by many over the years. It takes only two members of Between A Rock And A Hard Place to surge from the foot of the leader board to a resounding victory.
Ten teams this week at The Cuddie Brae. Still doing well but we have room for more. Come along and join in the fun and banter. You don’t have to be a brainiac to take part in our quiz.
The questions are designed so most teams should have someone able to answer within the 10-second timer. EVERY subject is covered with some being audio, through our sound system, or photo images with video to come soon.
Loads of banter and good-humoured fun helped along by the usual suspects, you know who you are.
Between A Rock And A Hard Place
These guys carry the best team we have had banner. This week they started well behind the rest of the teams due to our handicapping but they still surged ahead to complete an emphatic victory. The Boys From Brazil must be gutted to have brought a great performance but still only come in second. Maybe next time guys there will be an even bigger handicapping of the Rocks after this win.
Scoreboard
Another very close scoreboard with the exception of the first three teams which all pulled off a fantastic performance. Fourth to ninth place are separated by only 82 points with our new team, Couple Of Matts, finishing in a poor last place.
Jackpot Winner?
NO! There was no jackpot winner again this week.
Our Open The Box jackpot increases to £650 for the next quiz on 10/10/19 with Take It Or Leave It staying at £50 after this week’s £12 win.
New Teams
We had one new team this week. Couple Of Matts came in last with only 577 points but they are determined to come back again to challenge for first place. Because of their poor performance, they will have a decent handicap and will start at the top of the scoreboard beside the rest of our poorer performing teams!
Every team can win. I fact every team will have their day with a victory at The Cuddie Brae, it is only a matter of time.
Wanted: New Venues
I am still looking for a couple of new venues to take up SpeedQuizzing. If you know of any venue which may be interested, I would appreciate if you let me know and provide an introduction if possible.
Cold calling with an offer of doing a SpeedQuiz is just like any other cold calling. I typically don’t entertain anyone who just turns up at my door trying to sell me something and I am sure this is exactly how bars and restaurants view my visits.
This immediately puts up a wall which is almost impossible to overcome. An introduction from someone known at the venue will help to get the conversation started at a better place.
Halloween Is Coming!
We will be holding our Halloween Quiz on Thursday, October 31st at The Cuddie Brae. There will be a round or two on everything Halloween and prizes to give away.
I will give 5 points for every team member that arrives in fancy dress. There will also be a main prize for the best Halloween outfit as decided by a vote from the teams on the night.
