How it works
Most questions in a SpeedQuizzing quiz give you up to 10 seconds to answer. The full points are available to the first correct answer submitted. Points reduce slightly for each second that passes — so a correct answer in 2 seconds scores significantly more than the same correct answer in 9 seconds.
This system runs automatically in the background. You don’t need to do anything differently — just answer as quickly as you can when you know the answer.
Why it changes how you play
In a traditional pub quiz, there’s no advantage to answering quickly — you write it down when you know it. In SpeedQuizzing, speed is part of the game. A team that answers 8 out of 10 questions quickly will often outscore a team that answers 10 out of 10 slowly. This keeps the tension high throughout every round — even on questions where most teams know the answer.
It also means a quiz night can be genuinely competitive without anyone needing specialist knowledge. Most of the questions are answerable by most people — it’s the combination of knowledge and speed that determines the winner.
