Crack The Safe — known on the night as Open The Box — is Premier SpeedQuizzing’s most popular jackpot game. One player, one safe, and a bag of numbered balls. The whole room holds its breath.
How to play
- We start with a bag of table tennis balls — each has a four-digit number written on it
- One of those balls has the correct code to open the safe
- A player is randomly selected from the room to play
- That player chooses one ball from the bag and reads out the number
- The number is entered into the safe keypad — if the safe opens, they win the jackpot
- If the safe doesn’t open, the ball is removed from the bag and play continues at the next quiz night
The jackpot
The jackpot builds over time — it starts at £10 and increases by £10 each week the safe isn’t cracked. The longer it goes unopened, the more dramatic the eventual reveal. The moment the safe actually opens is one of the best moments in any quiz night.
