PremierSQ alphaetical keypad letter questions

The Keypad round is the core format of a SpeedQuizzing quiz night. Players use their smartphone screen to answer questions in a variety of ways — letters, numbers, multiple choice, or sequences. It’s the format you’ll encounter most often, and the one that covers the widest range of question types.

How it works

When a Keypad question is shown on the main screen, the answer interface appears automatically on every player’s device. Depending on the question, you’ll answer by:

  • Letters — tap the letter of your answer (A, B, C, D for multiple choice questions)
  • Numbers — type a numerical answer using the keypad on your device
  • Multiple choice — select from the options shown on screen
  • Sequences — tap items in the correct order

Once you’ve entered your answer, tap Submit. Your answer is locked in and scored automatically — you’ll see the result on the leaderboard screen almost immediately.

Speed matters

In most Keypad rounds, the Speed Bonus system is active. This means the faster you submit a correct answer, the more points you score. You have up to 10 seconds to answer — but a correct answer submitted in 2 seconds scores significantly more than one submitted in 9. This keeps the pressure on throughout every round and means even a question you know well is worth buzzing in on quickly.

Tips for playing Keypad rounds

  • Don’t wait for the full 10 seconds if you know the answer — speed bonus points add up significantly over a full quiz
  • If you’re unsure, submit your best guess rather than running the clock down — a slow correct answer still scores more than no answer
  • Keep your device screen active throughout — the question appears automatically when the round starts
