In a Buzzing Classic round, the first team to buzz in with the correct answer wins the full points. It’s the fastest-paced format in a SpeedQuizzing quiz night — and the one that gets the most noise out of a room.
How it works
The quizmaster reads out the question. The moment you know the answer, tap the buzzer on your device screen. Your team name appears on the live leaderboard screen and your buzzer sound plays over the PA system — so everyone in the room knows who buzzed in first.
The quizmaster then invites the team who buzzed in first to give their answer. If it’s correct, that team scores the full points. If it’s wrong, the next team to have buzzed in gets a chance — and so on until the question is answered or time runs out.
What makes it exciting
The visual and audio confirmation of who buzzed in — on screen and over the speakers — creates real theatre. The reaction when a team buzzes in confidently and then can’t remember the answer is half the fun. Buzzing Classic rounds tend to generate the loudest moments of any quiz night.
