Music rounds are a fixture of every Premier SpeedQuizzing quiz night — and consistently produce the most energy of any round. Audio clips are played through the PA system, and players answer questions based on what they hear. Artists, song titles, years, themes, and more.
How it works
A short clip — typically 10–20 seconds — plays over the sound system. Questions appear on your device based on the clip: name the artist, identify the song, answer a question about the lyrics or the year of release, or spot the theme linking a series of tracks.
A typical music round includes ten tracks. Themes vary from quiz to quiz — recent chart hits, a specific decade, film soundtracks, TV themes, one-hit wonders, or a mix of everything. You’ll never know what’s coming until you hear it.
Why the music round matters
The music round is the great leveller. The person who knows nothing about history will often clean up on a music round, which keeps the competition interesting right to the end of the night. It’s also the round that draws in people who might have been quiet during the general knowledge sections — music is something everyone has a connection to.
