Teviot Social House is one of the oldest purpose-built student unions in the world. It’s a stunning Victorian building in the heart of Edinburgh’s Old Town, just off Bristo Square. Premier SpeedQuizzing runs a regular quiz night here as part of the Edinburgh University Students’ Association (EUSA) programme. So it’s one of the most distinctive quiz night venues in the city.

The Teviot Social SpeedQuizzing night brings together a competitive, enthusiastic crowd in a venue that has genuine character. The SpeedQuizzing format keeps things fast-paced and fully inclusive — live leaderboards, music rounds, and picture rounds. Because every player uses their own device to answer, everyone’s involved from the first question to the last. Expect a big turnout most weeks, too — Teviot Social’s central location makes it an easy stop for a night out in the Old Town.
About Teviot Social House
Builders completed Teviot Social House in 1889, and today it’s one of the most architecturally impressive student union buildings in the UK. You’ll find it on Bristo Square in Edinburgh’s Old Town. EUSA manages the building, which operates as a bar, event space, and social hub year-round. Its age and character give it an atmosphere that few modern venues can match, and that makes it a brilliant setting for a quiz night.
Premier SpeedQuizzing runs quiz nights at both Teviot Social and The Pleasance — two of Edinburgh’s most beloved student venues, both with loyal and competitive quiz crowds. As a result, it’s become a genuine fixture in the EUSA social calendar. However, watch out for the dates, because these quizzes only run during semester time in the university year.
