Team With No Name

Team With No Name won our quiz on March 3rd 2022. After lagging well behind the leaders for most of the quiz, Team With No Name surged to the top in the last two rounds.
We are now getting to a place where we are near the capacity for the quiz. We have increased the number of tables by including the area in front of the bar. I will provide a small monitor for this area so the quizzers can still see what is happening. There is still room for another table or two but the capacity can be reached very easily.
If you are a regular team, speak to Billy who will make sure you get your normal table as often as possible. There may however be the odd occasion when this is not possible, please try to remain flexible with your seating arrangements as Billy does his best to keep everyone happy.
It is becoming ever more important to make sure you book your tables a week in advance for the best chance to get your preferred tables, see below for a link to the Cuddie Brae booking site.
Scoreboard
Another week brings yet another closely fought out quiz. With the scoring being so tight, there is a chance for any team to win. Team With No Name were the eventual winners after a huge comeback. Nobody would have given them a chance with the last two rounds still to come. But they did it, a huge comeback for their first win on only the second time of trying.

Jackpot Games
There were no Jackpot winners this week.
We paid out £24 on Take It Or Leave It.
The new jackpot is now £85 at our next quiz.
Now that this game is well established and has a track record of takings and payouts, you may have noticed the jackpot maintaining a higher value. I am now able to put more of the takings into the payouts whilst still protecting the game’s baseline figure. This is so when the full jackpot is won, we don’t have to start again from £0. This is monitored closely and may need some changes if the current number of larger wins continues.
The BIG game, Open The Box, had a jackpot prize of £605. There was no winner so this increases to £625 for our next quiz. If this is not won by the first team selected, a second team will play for £250.
I continually increase the proportion of money taken to then be paid out. Again this is to maximise the winnings whilst keeping a decent amount back to start again after the jackpot is won.
Book Your Table Now!
We reach near capacity most weeks now so it is strongly advised that you book your tables in advance. I would suggest getting onto the Cuddie Brae booking site a week in advance and reserving your favourite table. Click the image below to do just that.

If you leave it too late and can’t book online, contact the Cuddie Brae directly by phone on 0131 657 1212. They do have a small reserve of tables available after the online booking is full. You never know your table ‘might’ still be available.
Get In Early!
It would be a great help if all teams could be there and ready for 745 pm. This will allow time to get any connection issues sorted as well as the handicapping in place ready to start.
