Even with a few of our regular teams being absent this week, due to holidays, we still managed to get 12 teams in tonight. As usual, the final scoring was tight but the winners managed to get a pretty decent 99 point win by bringing in the big guns.
New Teams This Week
There were 2 new teams this week. Wandering Minds floundering in last place and Total BS finishing 9th. That’s not too bad a result considering every other team has far more experience on how the quiz works and how to predict answers. I am sure you will both do better next time, especially since your handicaps will give you a better start.
I hope to see both of the new teams back again soon.
Scoreboard
This week’s scoreboard shows an almost reversal of fortunes from recent weeks. The Belters and The AA’s have been doing pretty well recently with top half finishes but both ended up in the bottom half this week. This might be another sign of a successful handicapping system.
The usual culprits were up there looking for the win by finishing in third and fourth places. Bubble & Squeak, in fifth, had a good game. Maybe this was down to them bringing a driver so they could get a couple of bottles of wine down them.
Jackpot Games
Open The Box remains intact for another week. After two failed attempts to open the box, the jackpot increases again this week to another new high of £720. I can confirm there are now definitely only 8 balls left to choose from so the win will come within the next four weeks.
The past two jackpots were won when we were down to the last few balls and the odds of that happening a third time are really very slim. It could be this week and it could be you walking home with £720 CASH in your pocket after a great night out!
We Had A Jackpot WINNER!
The Take It Or Leave It, our version of Deal Or No Deal, has been won. Darren of The AA’s was selected to play and took us right to the very last card to win the £60 jackpot. Congratulations Darren but you let me down. I really want to see this jackpot rising to a big number but we are set back to a £50 jackpot again this week, with a guaranteed win between £1 and £50.
