Premier SpeedQuizzing has been running quiz nights across Edinburgh and Central Scotland since 2011, and we’re always open to hearing from people who could be a good fit to host with us. If you’ve read what we look for in a quiz night host and think that sounds like you, here’s what a partnership with us actually involves.
What Partnering With Us Looks Like
Rather than starting from scratch, hosts who join Premier SpeedQuizzing step into an established operation. That means an existing brand people already recognise and trust, venue relationships that have been built up over years, the SpeedQuizzing technology and question content ready to go, and ongoing support from someone who’s been doing this since 2011 and has largely already solved the problems you’d otherwise have to work out alone.
Depending on what fits best, that might mean taking on one of our existing regular venue nights, helping us launch a new night in an area we’re expanding into, or covering corporate and private events alongside our regular weekly schedule.
What We Provide
- The SpeedQuizzing platform — live scoring, wireless buzzers and question content, so you’re not building any of that yourself
- An established venue and audience where relevant, rather than having to build a night from zero
- Guidance on running a night the Premier SpeedQuizzing way — pacing, energy, handling the technical side calmly
- Ongoing support if something goes wrong on the night or you’ve got questions as you’re getting started
What We’re Looking For
The short version: someone who can hold a room, who is reliable without exception, who genuinely enjoys the format rather than just reading out questions, and who stays calm when the tech has one of its occasional off moments. We go into this in more detail on our quiz host standard page — it’s worth a read before you get in touch, so you know exactly what we’re after.
You don’t need previous quiz hosting experience specifically, but comfort speaking in front of a room — whether that’s from presenting, performing, teaching, sales, or anything else — goes a long way.
How It Works From Here
Get in touch with a bit about yourself and any relevant experience. We’ll have a conversation about what you’re looking for and what we’ve got available — that might be an existing venue night, a new opportunity, or occasional corporate cover to start with. From there it’s usually a case of coming along to see a night in action, then getting you set up to run one yourself with support close by until you’re fully comfortable.
There’s no rigid formula — it depends on where you are, what experience you’re bringing, and what we’ve got room for at the time.
