Leasks Dream Team are living the dream with their first Premier SpeedQuiz win. After playing in ten quiz nights at The Cuddie Brae, they secured their very first victory. Having never had any delusions of ever winning, only being there for the fun and banter, Leasks Dream Team have taken on the best and brushed them aside.
New Teams This Week
There were three new teams this week. The best performing new team was The Cableways finishing in 10th place just ahead of Hips Heroes. The last new team finished last, in 14th place, and were very happy with their chocolates as a booby prize. Hard lines to I Like Big Putts I Cannot Lie, maybe next time!
As always I have a wee bit of advice to the new teams. You were given a token handicap when you joined the quiz. This was to give you a start without being left way behind the rest of the teams. On your next appearance, your handicap will reflect how well, or not, you performed last time. From what I see on the scoreboard, you will all be starting in a much better position next time.
The handicaps are actually calculated over 5 quizzes so the more you play, the more accurate your handicap will be.
Dumb and Dumber continue to push for another win only just falling behind Leasks Dream Team into second place. I am sure there is another win coming soon for them
The Belters had a disappointing quiz languishing in 13th place. Sometimes the questions just don’t fall into your areas of knowledge.
Yet again there is a very tight ending to the quiz. Only 20 points between first and second and less than 200 points covering the top 8 teams. It doesn’t take much to swing the scoreboard around for any team to win.
On the day of any open quiz I run, I post the answer to a single question on the PremierSQ facebook page. This question is worth an extra 25 points to the first team to answer that specific question correctly on the night. This can mean up to 55 points for a single question. This has made the difference between coming first or second more than once in the past so it is important that you see this free answer.
To have access to the free answer you will need to like and follow our Facebook page, LINK TO PREMIERSQ.
There were no surprises and no winners of this week’s Jackpot games so they both continue forward to next week.
Open The Box now has a cash jackpot of £585 waiting to be won.
Take It Or Leave It, our guaranteed win game, continues with a £50 jackpot.
This year, Halloween falls on a Thursday quiz night. We are holding a special Halloween quiz with questions, pictures, music, buzzers etc all about Halloween. Come along and enjoy a Premier CreepQuiz. We’ll even provide a prize for the best costume on the night
Book Your Tables
14 teams, although not to be sneered at, still leaves enough room for maybe another 6 to take part. Some great teams are now joining us on a Thursday night with a few even booking in advance. Each week I am seeing regular teams arrive to find they can’t sit at their normal table. Now seems to be the time that every team needs to book their favourite tables just to make sure they aren’t stuck in the corner.
To book your table on the day, go here https://www.facebook.com/CuddieBrae/ and send a message.
Rhona will only be too happy to help reserve your table
A couple of things to remember.
Firstly, Rhona does get some time off justified or not, I’ll leave that up to you to decide, but she also takes care of social media at The Cuddie Brae. If you message on a day when Rhona is off, your message may not be picked up and your table not booked. Consider booking via the website instead.
Secondly, if you would like to reserve ‘your’ table, find out your table number, next time you play, to make sure you ask for the right one.
As always, you are all welcome to come along to the other open night quizzes we run. See below for details of the quizzes over the next few weeks.
