David Lloyd at Danderhall is a health and leisure club with excellent facilities. It’s also one of the more distinctive settings for a Premier SpeedQuizzing night in Midlothian. That’s because a quiz night at a leisure venue brings in a different kind of crowd to a traditional pub quiz. So the SpeedQuizzing format suits it brilliantly: inclusive enough for everyone, competitive enough to keep things exciting, and entertaining from start to finish.
About the night
The David Lloyd monthly quiz night draws members and guests who might not normally attend a pub quiz. That mix of people is what makes it genuinely interesting. The SpeedQuizzing format works especially well in this setting, because every team uses their own device to answer and scores update live on screen. As a result, there’s no experience required to take part. New players get up to speed within the first round, and by the end of the night they’re as competitive as anyone.
Rounds include general knowledge, music, pictures, and high-energy games like Music Bingo. Because of that variety, there’s something to suit any crowd, and the format is always designed so that everyone has something to contribute.
About David Lloyd Danderhall
You’ll find David Lloyd Danderhall on Old Dalkeith Road. It’s well-placed for members coming from across south Edinburgh, Midlothian, and the surrounding area. On top of that, the club’s facilities include a bar and social space that works perfectly for a hosted quiz evening.
For David Lloyd members, it’s also a nice change of pace — a chance to socialise with people from the club in a completely different setting to the gym floor or the courts. It’s proof that a quiz night can work just as well in a leisure club as it does in the local pub.
