05/02/20 The Coalgate

Written by JamesV

There was a decent turn out for the February quiz at The Coalgate in Ormiston. We had five teams with a total of 17 quizzers. Not ‘too’ bad but the report card says, ‘Must do better’. To make sure this quiz keeps going give us, PremierSQ and The Coalgate, the support we need to continue to bring you this amazing quiz.

This Week’s Winners

The HasBeens were victorious. It was a good win for these guys finishing the quiz well clear of the other teams. On the final scoreboard, ‘windae lickers‘ came in a close second after winning the 100 points nearest wins question.

Well done to the HasBeens!

Scoreboard

Not a lot of teams showing up at The Coalgate as yet but the competition is hot. As always there was good banter with the usual threats, eye-poking, and spitting. Well, not eye-poking and spitting but loads of banter between the teams. Jack was up to his usual standard, crap!

New Team

We had a new team tonight with Shades Of Blue joining in at the last minute. There is no shame at all coming last, it takes a game or two to get used to the format. Hopefully, we will see you back soon.

Jackpot Games

Both Jackpot games are left intact for another month.

We did have a winner on Take It Or Leave It but Open The Box remains unwon again.

The Windae Lickers were selected to play Take It Or Leave It and after one of the worst starts I have seen, they left with £14 in their pockets. Well done lads. Next month the jackpot will be £54.

For Open The Box I introduced a two prize option. The first ticket selected played for the jackpot and the second for £50. Neither one was won so we continue next month with a jackpot of £135, it’s growing slowly!

I’ll be back on March 4th, see you there!
