With only 18 teams in the mix, it seems the season’s nuances played a role – university exams, budget constraints for festive preparations, and the typical expenses tied to work-related celebrations. Nevertheless, the spirited atmosphere prevailed, making it another memorable night at ESF.

For the second consecutive week, the Crusty Jugglers claimed victory, earning themselves a £50 food voucher to relish the delectable offerings at Edinburgh Street Food. Despite the smaller turnout, the competition remained close, adding an extra layer of excitement to the night.
Generosity at its Finest
Securing the second spot, DEMT snagged a 4-pint pitcher of beer, but what truly stood out was their generous gesture. Instead of keeping their winnings, they passed it along to their neighbouring team, Peach, citing them as a source of fun throughout the night. A heartwarming example of camaraderie, demonstrating that, in the spirit of the season, sharing joy can be just as rewarding as winning.

Taking the third spot on the podium was “My Drinking Team Has A Quizzing Problem” – a distinct entity from the team with a similar name. Their reward? A satisfying batch of chips for the entire team, adding a delightful touch to their night out.

Our quizzes are all about fun, and the handicapping system is here to add another layer of enjoyment for everyone involved.
How It Works
To implement this system successfully, we kindly request each team to stick to the same team name consistently. This ensures a fair and accurate application of handicaps. The process will kick off promptly at 8 pm, so we encourage all teams to be registered and connected by then. Your commitment to the same team name not only fosters a sense of identity but also contributes to the overall success of this exciting new venture.
Levelling the Playing Field
We understand that competing against seasoned quiz veterans can be challenging, and we want to make sure every team feels they have a chance to shine. The handicapping system will be based on previous performances, to create a more evenly matched playing field. In the spirit of fairness and good-natured competition, we’re introducing the Numpty Bonus – a special 50-point boost for the team finishing last each week.
