Hair Blair Bunch Somehow Manage A Win

What a month it’s been at our quizzes! With Christmas around the corner, work nights out, and the chaos caused by questionable government decisions, attendance has taken a bit of a hit. But hey, we’re still going strong!
At the Cuddie Brae, we had 13 teams battling it out, including a fresh face joining the fun. The Hair Blair Bunch clinched another victory, with the Dipshits putting up an impressive fight for second place. Was this their last chance for a while? Time will tell.
After months of complaining about not winning, the Hair Blair Bunch finally nailed it again. December seems to be their lucky month – maybe a bingo win is in the cards for them too!
Not everyone had a great night, though. The Zoo Crew had a rough time, finishing at the bottom and losing their long-held position as the best regular team. For the first time in ages, they’ll be starting third in the handicap rankings, depending on who shows up next time.
The Lonely Wino kicked off strong but got distracted by her colourful art career, leading to a plummet down the scoreboard. The school report card says MUST DO BETTER!

Nearest Wins
The final question of the night had two teams on the edge of stealing the win from the Hair Blair Bunch. Did they manage to pull off a last-minute upset for the 6-foot-tall guys at the top?
The question was…….
According to a 2016 survey carried out by Quidco and published by the online newspaper Huffington Post, using a national life expectancy of 83 years, how many films will the average British person watch in their lifetime?
Answer: 7370
The Newbies were nearest with their answer of 7100 so they won the 100 points elevating them into 4th place from 6th.
Worst Team Of The Night
Tonight the crappy team award goes to the Zoo Crew finishing last. They get a 50-point starter along with an improved handicap going on to their next quiz.
New Teams
We welcomed I Wish It Could Be Quizmas Everyday to the quiz for the very first time. Despite ending second last they enjoyed the banter and structure of the whole quiz and will be back, albeit on an occasional basis. As always, a low score means the handicap they will be offered at their next appearance will be much higher than this week so they should end up higher in the rankings.
It was good to see you guys and please don’t be strangers.
Jackpot Games
Take It Or Leave It
Tonight’s jackpot hit £77, and all eyes were on the Zoo Crew as they took on the challenge. The jackpot box hung in there as the higher values were eliminated one by one. However, in the end, even that last box bowed out of the game.
The suspense built until only two boxes remained, one holding £1 and the other £3. The final decision left the Zoo Crew with £3 to split between their four team members.
We continue next week at £80.
Open The Box
The Open The Box goes forward to next week with the £300 still intact after not being won again this week.
Music Bingo
Our theme this week was TikTok featuring videos of some great, and some not-so-great, tunes.
I am always looking for new themes to base the music bingo on so if any of you have any ideas, I’d like to hear them
We shelled out £20 for a line and £41 for the full house in our music bingo game. Both were won by the Team With No Name. Well done guys!
Something I feel I must Address
Let’s be clear – bingo is the epitome of randomness. When the same team wins both the line and the full house on the same night, it’s not some grand plan; it’s just the pure luck of the draw. I get it; we all throw around the ‘fixed’ banter, but lately, I’ve been picking up on some murmurs of dissent. Some teams are starting to think it’s not just chance, but something unfair going on, and it’s becoming a bit too regular.
Let’s set the record straight – it happens, and then it doesn’t. That’s the unpredictable nature of bingo! So, if you find yourself doubting the randomness, remember, it’s all in the luck of the game.
