Cuddie Brae 13th June 2019
Another week and another quiz at the Cuddie Brae. After a close fought quiz, Between A Rock And A Hard Place pipped the Scrambled Eggheads to the post to take another victory. Winning on the last 100 point question nicking the title from the Eggheads. £25 food gift card for winning the quiz and a couple of boxes of chocolates for winning nearest wins.
The Rocks have been hit hard with their handicap since running up a lot of high scoring games but with the pack closing in this was their day.
We now seem to have four major players at the Cuddie Brae. Each improving their performances making the scoreboard tight at the top. Everybody has a chance and it is only a matter of time before the rest of the teams make a serious bid for victory.
New Teams This Week
We had another two new teams this week.
The Grilled Charlie said at the start that they should start with a higher handicap because they were ‘crap’! They proved themselves correct by coming in last this week. They are proud winners of the ‘Tubes Of The Week Award’, enjoy the mini eggs. Next time you will get a much better handicap to start you off.
Our other new team, Double L, came in second last. Same applies to you guys so you will start with a bigger handicap next time.
Both are local teams so I look forward to seeing you back again soon.
Scoreboard
Pretty tight at the top again with only 153 points covering the top 5 and just 109 points separating the next 4. The Grilled Charlie left in the cold at the bottom with 806 points.
Taking out the 100 point last question, the top 5 were spread inside a 100 point window. Any one of these teams could easily have had a win if a few questions had gone their way. It’s time to brush up on your knowledge and playing skills.
I think every team is guilty of hitting the wrong answer by mistake or everybody diving to answer and bouncing off each other’s fingers. Maybe it’s just a case of taking a chance and answering a wee bit quicker to get the speed bonus.
Jackpot Games
Again, neither jackpot was won so both carry forward to next week.
Open The Box was tried by two teams who both failed to win the £500 and £250 jackpots. Next week these will increase to £525 and £260.
Take It Or Leave It continues with the same Jackpot prize of £51.
Back again next Thursday at 8pm
Will you have the chance to win £525 ? Who knows. One thing is for sure, if you’re not there and don’t enter, then you have no chance of winning.
