Our First Report for the Potterrow Dome Quiz

Our Potterrow quiz has been going strong since the beginning of this semester back in September. It’s been a bit of a rollercoaster with teams coming and going, but now we’ve got a fantastic mix of regulars and newcomers showing up every week.
The quiz is about to take a breather after next Sunday, December 10th, until January 14th when the new semester kicks in. Best of luck to all you students out there with your study leave and upcoming exams. And hey, I’m still keeping my fingers crossed that you can squeeze in some time to join us next week, even with your super busy schedules!
Technical Issues!
The night kicked off with a buzzing atmosphere as 21 teams eagerly joined in. However, we hit a bit of a snag with some technical glitches that led to losing a few teams before the grand finish. It turned out there was an intermittent fault in one of my power leads, which wasn’t immediately apparent. I had to persist until I could pinpoint the issue.
This hiccup wreaked havoc on my sound card, creating a symphony of unwelcome electrical noises. Once I identified the problem and swapped out the faulty lead, we were back in action, albeit with 4 fewer teams.
Regrettably, given the extensive tech I employ each week, it’s inevitable that occasional technical hitches may arise despite diligent maintenance. Fortunately, I possess a solid technical understanding of all my equipment and am backed by a host of spare parts and leads conveniently stored in my van.
Our Winners This Week
“A House For Mr Quizmas” clinched victory this week with an impressive score, leading the pack. Coming in a close second was “The World According to Daniel Quizp,” while there was a decent gap to the team in third place.
Scoreboard
Nearest Wins
With such a big gap there were only 2 teams in it to win the quiz with the 100 point nearest wins to follow. Mostly, the other teams were simply playing for pride and the hope they could climb higher on the final scoreboard. Four teams were competing to get into third place for the £10 prize.
The question was…….
How many times is the word ‘Baby’ sung in the Justin Bieber song ‘Baby’?
Answer: 55 in total, 54 sung by Bieber and once by Ludacris
The Biomed Bitches were nearest with their answer of 54 so they won the 100 points elevating them into 7th place from 9th.
Worst Team Of The Night
Tonight the crappy team award goes to a new team, Ferry Good Quizzers finishing last. They might want to review their team name.
Next Sunday is the Last until January 14th!
I hope to see you all again next week and good luck, as if you need it, for your impending exams!
