It was another good quiz at The Buccleuch with a dramatic end to the quiz.
Scoreboard
With the handicapping system beginning to take shape it was again a good old battle at the top of the scoreboard.
Good performances from a few of our teams kept the tension up right to the last question. The Muckin Fuppets had another good result in second place with The Lonely Wino a very close third. KG pulled off a great result in fourth ahead of The Wallaces, last week’s winners. The Gamblers had an expected disappointing night by finishing last.
Dumb and Dumber had a nightmare result finishing second last. Sometimes the questions just don’t line up with your knowledge, it happens!
Dramatic Finale
The top 4 teams were grouped nicely together all within 39 points. Muckin Fuppets had a lead of 33 points after a well-played quiz before the 100 points nearest wins last question. The question was as follows…..

- Muckin Fuppets – Failed to answer but when asked they indicated 42. They were too busy discussing the answer and completely lost track of the timer.
ANSWER is 42, the Muckin Fuppets were visibly gutted that they didn’t get the answer in on time.
Apparently, there are a few different sites online displaying the lyrics with the word sing being shown from 40 – 43 times. The official lyrics indicate the word is used 42 times so this is the answer we go with.
Quizzy McQuizface takes the 100 points and nicks the win at the very last second. Well done on your win!
Worst Team Of The Night
Tonight the crappy team award goes to The Gamblers finishing last. They have the privilege of owning the Joker card, very aptly named, until their next quiz when they will be awarded a bonus of 50 points.
Jackpot Games
There were no jackpot games tonight.
Up to this point, we have not played any jackpot games at The Buccleuch but after a general agreement that the teams would like to do this, I am introducing one next week. Deal or No Deal seems the best one to introduce here first.
So from next week, quizzers will be able to enter the game at a cost of £1 per ticket to play Deal Or No Deal. You can buy as many £1 entries as you would like to increase your chances of being selected to play. If selected you will be asked to select a box to keep as your home box and then to eliminate one box at a time until you are left with two boxes. You then choose one of those boxes to win whatever amount of cash it contains. All this is supported with on-screen graphics so the audience can see what is happening.
Just like Deal Or No Deal on TV but this is branded as Take It Or Leave It because of copyright and trade mark issues.
Music Bingo
Our theme this week was Now 1,2, and 3 featuring some of the tracks mainly from Now That’s What I Call Music albums 1, 2, and 3 from 1983/4. I am always looking for new themes to base the music bingo on so if any of you have any ideas, I’d like to hear them
We paid out £6 for a line and £12 for the full house.

Also if you later find you cannot attend then call again to cancel. Please also respect that regular teams have their regular tables.
Get In Early!
It would be a great help if all teams could be there and ready for 645 pm. This will allow time to get any connection issues sorted as well as the handicapping in place and ready to start.
