What a Turnout!
This week we had the biggest turnout yet. 60 quizzers in 17 teams. Wow! This is what it is all about, big numbers, great banter, and competitiveness!
This is something I don’t really expect to continue every week but it certainly shows the quiz is becoming more popular. As always, you really should consider booking your tables a week in advance to make sure you get your preferred tables, see below for a link to the Cuddie Brae booking site.
We are currently looking at options to allow higher numbers of players to attend without too much inconvenience.
We are also looking at the option of starting the quiz slightly earlier to allow everybody to get settled in plenty of time. In the meantime, it would be a great help if all teams could be there and ready for 745 pm. This will allow time to get any connection issues sorted as well as the handicapping in place ready to start.
This Week’s Winners
It’s been a while! The Boys From Brazil is definitely a team that should win more often than they do. The usual brain farts and general old age problems, I know how they feel, end up with them not quite performing to their best potential.
Today was their day, grabbing the win on the final nearest wins question. Well done guys! There should be more where that came from.
The Dipshits still manage to finish really well on a regular basis. After having had a few wins by playing out of their skins, it would have been expected that they would disappear down the table for a while. These guys keep coming back with regular top half finishes even though Steven, or is it Stephen, is a huge liability.
Scoreboard
When we have so many teams it is more difficult for any one team to stretch out a good lead. We still have the same amount of points available but these are spread among more teams. The result of this is lower scores and tighter finishes. The 100 points for the nearest wins question has become a deciding factor on which team will win.
Also, the free answer, as provided on the Premier SpeedQuizzing Facebook page on the day of each quiz, is now becoming just as important. That additional 25 points could be crucial to the finishing positions
It was good to see the Mean Gorls back after a long break despite the fact they were a bit under the influence of alcohol. A last-place finish this week, you just need to come along a bit more often.
Jackpot Games
Neither jackpot game was won again this week. £1 was won on Take It Or Leave It and no winner on Open The Box.
Book Your Table Now!
As can be seen from the past two weeks our numbers are regularly getting pretty high. It is even more important now than ever to make sure you book your tables in advance. I would suggest getting onto the Cuddie Brae booking site a week in advance and reserving your favourite table. Click the image below to do just that.
If you leave it too late and can’t book online, contact the Cuddie Brae directly by Facebook or phone, you never know your table ‘might’ still be available.
Music Bingo Coming Soon
After the next jackpot win on Take It Or Leave It, we will be moving on to a brand new and fun game. In Music Bingo, I will play clips from music videos on the screens and all you have to do is mark each song off your card until we have a winner. Don’t worry if you aren’t good with music as the titles will always be on the screens, just have a team member lookout for them.
Bonus points will always be awarded to the teams singing along to the music.
